FROZEN ENGINE??

Post by bell140 »

Having a problem with my98 volvo xc v70. We have had below zero weather and the car would not start in the morning. I opened the hood and tried to start it while watching it. There is a hose the looks like it comes from the radiator to the intake manifold and as the car sounded like it was going to catch, died as the vacuum inside the hose crimped it. I disconnected it and it started right up but ran ruff and I put the hose back on and it died immediately so I took it off again and it started right up I drove it in the garage and reconnedted it and it thawed and started right up. Thought it was the antifreeze so I had it replaced drove the car all day and night and this morning same thing and now it is in the garage again.
Is there some kind of valve or something that could be sticking somewhere??Help....
