2001 V70T5 passenger side mirror problem

Post by woody66 »

when I unlock my car and open the drivers door and the seat and mirrors try to reset, the passenger side mirror continues to
turn up to the max and starts clicking. I then have to reset the mirror. Is there any way to correct this?

Yes, replace the door mirror's drive unit. There's more than likely an internal fault with the encoder wheel or limit switch--so the mirror doesn't know where to stop. The RH (passenger) mirror drive unit for a V70T5 "with memory" is ~$185. There are two units depending on factory code and chassis number. To be sure have the dealer or an independent garage with Volvo-specific scan tools scan the PDM (passenger door module) for trouble codes--betcha they'll find a PDM-0023 thru 0029 code or two.
