S60 2002 Volvo 2.4
S60 2002 Volvo 2.4
I took my car to the shop. Found that I needed the #1 coil ignition pack. Replaced it and the engine light went out. Now after driving it for a few miles my service transmission required light came on and the engine light came back on shortly after. The car shifts really hard when it sits at a stop for a short period of time. I know I need to have the transmission flushed and refilled because the car set for over a year without being started and I was having problems with the engine light and transmission light coming on right before it sat for that period of time. I just had it shipped out to me last week and I now need to get this solved and get my emissions done because I know it will not pass in this condition. Any ideas from anyone or has anyone ever had this problem? Any advice would really help. Also, What do you think the value of an S60 with 90,000 miles on it would be worth? It's in ok condition. Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Welcome to MVS.
Check Edmunds for the value of your car- they are pretty accurate. In regards to the other issues- it looks like you know what to do. Just make sure you use JWS-3309 transmission fluid. We have a great write-up on our site in the repair database if you want to tackle this yourself- I flush all of our cars with this method all the time with good results. Also, check your spark plug gaps...and avoid Bosch Platinum's at all costs- they usually end up giving Volvo owners misfire codes.
