850 1996 car won't start

I noticed before it wouldn't start that it would take a long time to start.. not like i would have to turn the key but it would take longer than usual to get the car running. Now the car won't start at all. You turn the key and there is no clicking or sounds at all.

The battery must have at least 10Volts to get the starter solenoid excited. If you have a good battery, check the terminals at the starter and at the battery.

It could be the PNP switch. Try rowing the shifter back and forth from low to park a dozen times or so. If it still won't crank try to start it in Neutral.

It could be several things. You will need to do some testing. If your dash lights are not coming on when you turn the key, it may be a ground or battery connection problem as klausc suggested, or a problem with the ignition switch itself. If the dash lights are coming on when the ignition is on, but do not dim when you turn the key to start, the problem might be the starter, starter solenoid, or somewhere in the circuitry from the key switch to the starter (or the switch). You might start by checking to see if there is 12 volts at the main solenoid terminal. If there is, check to see if there is 12 volts at the small solenoid terminal when the key is turned to start.
