Re: Fuel Pump Replacement

I replaced my newer (18 months old) relay with my old one (original from 1994) that I had saved and it starts right up. I just couldn't believe it was the relay because I had just replaced it not too long ago.

I am going to play it safe and order a new one, toss the one that is only 18 months old and keep my original as an emergency replacement.

Question: If necessary could you drive the vehicle with the jumper in place? I was just thinking about that when I jumped the relay. Might get you home in case of trouble.

Thanks to everyone for your help on this.

I'm keeping my 94 wagon for another 130000 miles at least.

Thanks OL. Now that I decided to keep my 94 I am sure you will be seeing a lot of questions from me. I also have a 97 Landrover Discovery and if it wasn't for the Disco forum I would have driven that thing off a cliff. The best information comes from these forums.

Understanding and knowing how to keep your car running without having to run to the dealer or a pricey mechanic is a must particularly for European imports. But Volvos are nowhere near as much trrouble as older Landrovers. But I love them both.
