Yes, there are several vendors that sell OBDII software that runs on PC laptops. Start with a search:
http://www.google.com/search?q=obdII+code+software
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

That's what I'm talking about. You have to look through those search results to find one.

I have software that runs on my PC laptop that connects to the OBDII port under the coin tray and can display realtime diagnostic metrics data while I'm driving or when I'm stopped. The problem is a) I don't know the name of the company that wrote the software offhand and b) it's very very difficult to use, so I wouldn't recommend it anyway.

Instead I would search for OBDII software that runs on Palm or Windows CE devices, assuming you have a handheld. The software I've seen on the web for those looks much simpler yet every bit as powerful.
