I have a problem with my 03 S80 that seems beyond solving. I have had everything done to the suspension system possible but still get a vibration at between 50 and 65 MPH. The shop I use balances the wheels off the car, and of course they come up as complying with spec, so I wonder if it could be a bent shaft or something like that. I can remember a long time ago that the wheels were balanced on the car but I guess they don't do that any more. It seems as if that method would pick up any out-of -balance conditions that were other than the wheels. I am at a complete loss and would appreciate hearing about others experience with this kind of a problem and listening to their suggestions.
Much obliged.

Try moving the front tires to the back. It also might be a bent wheel - most shops won't notice it when doing a spin balance.

Find a tire shop with a "road force analyzer" and have them run the wheels on it--it might reveal a problem. Is the vibration in the body, or do you feel it in the steering wheel? Does swapping the tires back to front move the vibration?John Callahan wrote:I have a problem with my 03 S80 that seems beyond solving.
