Service Message - Not at Interval

I don't know if this constitutes a general question or specific to my car, so sorry if I'm in the wrong spot. Please redirect, if needed. Thanks!

If anyone has any input...
I have a '02 xc70 w/78,450 miles. The regular service message came on at 78,250 miles. That's somewhat between the 7,500 mile interval, which I assume is 75k and 82.5k. Does that mean the car never got the 75k (just bought the car), or it's a warning for the next one? Any ideas? And, what is required for the 75 or 82.5k maintenance? Couldn't find a service schedule online that was clear cut - it seems that they lump all the cars together, but I don't know if they take into account the AWD and turbo, etc. Thanks for any help.

The recommended service intervals are based on mileage OR time. It is possible that a service has been done on a time basis so the mileage will be out of synch.

I think I will assume that since it's between the 2 intervals, I'll have the 75k done (seems like most of the stuff is the same w/a few extras like hinge lube) just to be on the safe side. Wish I had the service records! Bill and Lee, thank you for your time and know-how.
