S80 4 dr 01 sunroof is leaking and rattles badly
I just purchased a S80 4 door. although the moon roof operates normally it leaks and rattles badly. I replaced one bolt that was stripped and tightend all others visible but nothing has changed. How difficult is the headliner to remove and I guess that would be the next step

My '00 S80 T6 also had a bad rattle in the sunroof that I finally discovered was caused by black metal support channel that runs the width of the glass panel. Mine had come unattached at one end and was vibrating against the glass. I used rear-veiw mirror epoxy and some clamps to re-attach it to the glass. I let it dry overnight, removed the clamps, problem solved. Mine didn't leak, however, so I can't offer up any help there.
thats usually what it is, common problem with Volvo-s which have these metal support bars.anelson52 wrote:My '00 S80 T6 also had a bad rattle in the sunroof that I finally discovered was caused by black metal support channel that runs the width of the glass panel. My sunroof is rattling too, although with the shade closed its barely audible. I took off the plastic liner on each side and tightened the 4 torx bolts (which were already pretty tight). It still has play in it. Is there something else I should look for to repair or am I gonna need to replace the whole mechanism?
