I need to replace the muffler system and midpipe in my 1998 V70 AWD. From reading here and on Volvospeed, it seems that the dual muffler system, part no 9470703, from the 2000 V70R will fit. I realize it offers no performance benefit, but it looks great! The sources listed on the old threads don't work any more. The only source I've found for it is MySwedishParts.com with a price of $346 plus shipping. Anyone know of a lower price source?
Also, while the ECT (Eurosport) dual exhaust is stainless steel, my guess is that it is louder and boomier than the Volvo version. Any experience with it?

Call Waltrip Volvo in Franklin, TN and tell them your a member of this board. I have the exhaust on my XC70 and love the way it looks.
Well, you can do what I did on my 98 V70R.
First, install that stock dual exhaust from an 00' V70R.
Get a 12" long 1/2" or larger drill bit, remove the muffler tip, then drill out the blockage inside the driver side muffler. Then remove the accessible insulation.
Reduces back pressure by about 75%, and gives it a deep throaty sound.

this is the closest forum Ive found that is close. Im looking for a turbo back exhaust system And I am needing advise im looking at power more than sound and maybe bolted together as I have plans to replace the stock turbo with a gt28r71 so I would like to just replace the down pipe when I do it. any info would help me alot. thanks all.

Would this work on stock exhaust? Or does it need to be dual aftermarket?
If it is possible on stock setups, where would the blockage be located?
Thanks!

Hey all. I just purchased an incredibly clean 1999 v70r with 7100 miles and I have serious questions about performance upgrades. I also own a 1999 v70 xc fixer upper with 17600 miles. Are there any performace threads someone can post me to? I very much would like to pull some conventional wisdom from all of you and tune this v70r into a collective project car.
