Cooling Fan Keeps Running

OK heres one I cant figure out. When I drive and shut off the car, the cooling fan keeps running. I have to manually pull the fuse for the cooling fan to shut it off. When I plug it back in, it stays off then. Any ideas?

It normally indicates that you have a bad engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. How does the temperature gauge behave? If you wind up changing it go ahead and get a new thermostat and new thermostat housing bolts while you are at it. The original bolts want to strip out and Volvo re-designed them.

Temp gauge runs low all the time, was going to replace thermostat, but the fan thing makes me think its something else.

The ECT sensor is mounted just below the thermostat so change them both at the same time.
