Check Engine Light Gone by itself????? S70 98

As the topic says, I had a check engine light for about two weeks which has gone off by itself? The bulb is OK since the display flashes every time i turn the car on.

How is this possible?

I thought you need to disconect a battery or clear it by Code machine, but had no idea that the check engine light can clear itself out just like that?

It goes through a check cycle every time you start the car. Whatever it was mad about it is now happy again. Chances are it will come back on again though.
