Cleaner for throttle body?

Post by bluezero000 »

Thanks to this site, I'm almost done with all the chores on my 1996 Volvo 850 GLT. 8) The last one is cleaning throttle body. What kind of degreaser should I use? Will any all-purpose degreaser do? Anything to avoid? Thanks.

I wouldn't use a degreaser. Auto parts stores sell throttle body cleaner in a spray can with the little plastic tube extension taped on the side of the can. Real handy for getting it in there where the krud is.

Throttle body cleaner also doubles as a good solvent for cleaning other items - Brakes, cruded up vacume lines/flame traps, motorcycle carbs, gunked up fishing reels, dirty guns, and the list goes on...
