Compression Testing '99 S70 non-turbo ...

Are there any special procedures for performing a compression check on an engine with the coil packs? I have a non-turbo '99 S70, which uses the coil packs vs. a distributor, and I am concerned about any electrical/computer damage I might cause by cranking the engine with no plugs or grounding for the coil packs.

No concerns - just unplug them before cranking

Very good! Thanks for the info ...I was concerned unplugging them might do damage to the ECM/ECU .....didn't want to compund my problems.

Should the throttle body be propped open (its electronically controlled) when doing the test?

Thanks for your help. It was a relief to find the engine in very good internal health based on the numbers I got from the compression testing. It was also a relief to know the errant grounding prongs from the Platinum 4 plug apparently have not lodged in a valve seat area preventing the valve(s) from sealing.
