Hey everybody, my first post here... Hoping someone can help me.
Anyway few weeks ago while driving my 85 244 bogged down and died out at a stop light.. restarted again after just a few minutes. Made it a few miles just fine, parked it, started again and only ran for about 1 block before dying out completely (no bogging down just died.) Now it will crank but will not start.
So I have changed both fuel pumps and most of the fuel line, fuel filter was changed about a week before this happened (old one was filthy), distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs. All with no luck.
I then tried pulling off the intake hose and sprayed some throttle body cleaner into the throttle body and tried starting it. It will nearly start up but die out in just a few seconds.
I'm thinkin it could be a vacuum leak or possibly clogged injectors? Any ideas? Thanks.
85 244DL Won't start
I would check the temp coolant sensor. Remove and test cold. A good one will get around 4k ohm and drop to 600-800 ohm in hot water (I tested in water from a hot water dispenser--Ozarka). I had a bad one that would only drop to 1.3k ohm and the car would not want to start (and if it did it ran very rich). Not sure if this what you are facing but it is one thing you can check along the way. Good luck!
