Tensioner Torque Specs

Post by jakeizchillin »

I was wondering if anyone has the torque specs for the automatic tensioner. I found the pdf that shows how to take it apart for lubrication, but I am wondering how tight I should put everything back together. Thanks!

I should have posted a reply when I saw this last night...but when I looked these specs up, I was amazed at how little torque is actually used on the TB parts, especially very little considering that I broke 2 tools trying to get the tensioner pulley off of my car. Anyway, good luck with your change.

Thanks vegasjetskier, but I was wondering about the accessory belt tensioner. Sorry! should have been more specific!

MadeInJapan wrote: VADIS lists the following:
Tensioner Pulley: 30Nm (22 ft lbs)
Idler Pulley: 24Nm (17.75 ft lbs) (if re-using, make sure and grease the bushing in this pulley).
Auxiliary Belt Tensioner 20Nm (14.75 ft lbs) for both screws...also the same value if you remove the center screw of the tensioner to regrease the internals.

I always thought the VADIS values were a bit low and would nudge the bolts just slightly more than the listed values.
