2004 volvo xc90 radio code

I have a 2004 Xc90 T6 with the premium dolby pro-logic sound system. I recently had an aftermarket DVD player installed on the ceiling and the company said that while they were installing it the battery died. Ever since, the radio does not come on. When the key is in the first or second position, the lights on the radio come on for about 2 seconds and then nothing. When the motor is on, the radio is completely dead. I asked the company who installed the DVD player to check it out and he said that there's power going to the radio and it's probably a radio code issue. But when I called my volvo dealer, he said that my car did not have a code (my dealer is in Canada and the car was purchased in the States - is it possible the canadian dealer does not have codes for US cars?). I tried to put the key in the second position for 3 hours to enter a Code I got online (for 30$) but unfortunately the battery dies before the 3 hours. Please help!!!

Try locking and unlocking the door with your key 3 times and if this doesn't work, do it with your key fob- I forget exactly but something about resetting everything like this.

Thanks - I tried but it won't work. I called volvo again and they said that they don't fix radios and that if it doesn't work they need to replace it for $1,000.

There must be something easier... the radio worked fine until they installed the dvd player.

Any ideas?
