1999 S70 shakes when I step on the brakes

My wife has a 1999 S70 with 90,000 miles. It has a shake when you step on the brakes so I put new rotors and pads in the front but it still shakes. I do not think it is the rear brakes because when I pull the ebrake it is smooth. What should I look at next?

The ebrake uses shoes against a drum inside the "hat" section of the rotors on the back. So the rotors could be warped and the ebrake still function fine. I'd at least inspect the rear rotors - they could be your problem.

Is the shake in the steering wheel or the whole car? If the whole car, then could be rear rotors. If in the wheel then check ball joints, control arm bushings, struts and mounts, tie rods (inner and outer) and wheel bearings.

I had the same problem on my Nissan Patrol. It was the front discks that was shot. Have some one look at the thickness and compare it with what the minimum thickness should be.

check the calipers whiles your down there checking the ebreak, you never know.
