2008 s40 power steering fluid resivour

Does this car have a sealed system, or is there a power steering fluid resivour somewhere out of sight?

The owner's manual says it's hidden behind the passenger's side headlight, #2 in this diagram:

Because of the way that the power steering resevior is hidden it's had to tell how much to fill it. Are we supposed to just dunk our finger or is there some other way to judge the level?

The cap should have a level indicator on it...check it while it's hot...cold is unreliable. Oh, and don't over-fill.
