Hello,
The front passenger-side door does not unlock anymore,
so because of this the door cannot be opened at all, even from inside.
It cannot even be manually locked/unlocked.
When we use the remote or the power lock button, you can
hear a loud motorized whirl sound (no clanking, just whirl/loud hum). All the other locks work fine.
I am a big guy and I can't even pull up the lock up to unlock it! LOL It's just stuck!
We want to at least unlock it manually! Any ideas?
Thank you very much!
Mel

Does the window roll down? If so, you might be able to access the lock mechanism through the opening for the glass. If that doesn't work, the only thing I can think of is to cut a hole in the inside door panel even with the lock to get access to the mechanism. You would have to get a whole new door panel, but there are some wrecking yards that will give you a better price on a good used one than buying a new one from the dealer.

Why would you cut a hole in the door panel? Get a door trim wrench for $5 and take the panel off and have a look at the linkage inside. You have to start by removing the speaker at the top of the door, there is a connecting clip to allow you to completely detach the speaker unti and get it out of the way. You then remove the back of the interior door handle carefully with a flat head screwdriver. That will expose 2 #25 torx screws. Undo these and use the trim wrench to undo the trim clips around the door. At this point you will have the panel removed and can have a look at the problem.

Well maybe his car is slightly different, but on mine you cannot access what you need to in order to remove the panel with the door shut, nor can you tip the bottom of the panel away from the door in order to lift the panel up.ktown wrote:Why would you cut a hole in the door panel?
