Picked up a 1990 740GL Wagon, which am very pleased about. However, it has a couple of minor issues with the instrument panel: the speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauges don't register one bit. The tach and temp gauge work properly.
Any ideas where I should begin my investigation?

It turned out to be a connector behind the dash which had come loose. Plugged in, gauges work and battery now charges.
