Vibration in front axles 2004 XC90

Post by glnaka3 »

I took my XC90 to the dealer due to a vibration in the front axle when acceleratng. They thought it was the drive shaft, replaced it and told me it still wasn't fixed. They then ordered the left and right axles to replace and discovered it was only the right side that was worn My car was in the shop for one week, while they were trying to figure out what the problem was. I asked if they called Volvo tech support for help, and they told me they did, but no one had reported this problem with the XC90 before. I couldn't believe that no one had this experience before, and that you could have this problem with a car thats only three years old. I don't know if the two are related, but I had just taken my car in to have the recall fixed (balljoints), and suddenly this problem occurred immediatly after that. Anyone else have this problem? Is there any recourse against Volvo? Partial refund of my $983.00 bill?[/b]

I also have a 2004 xc90 and am experiencing the same problem, but I have not yet been to the dealer. I did however change tires and have an alignment done. The vibration is still there. The alignment shop thought it could be the inside cv joint. This is the only car/truck that I have had this problem with. Is this Ford's influence?

I have a 04 xc90 too but the vibration is in the rear. My mechanic told me the drive shaft is frozen on both ends and say I need to replace the drive shaft which costs $1100.
anyone heard of this?
