Engine cleaning

How does one clean the exterior of the engine? Is there any certain products to use or not use??

I've had good luck with a product called 'Oil Eater Degreaser' that I picked up at the local warehouse club.

Careful not to get anything down the spark plug wells. They're deep and will collect anything.

I would also cover the rotor and cap and try not to spray any other electrical connectors. Things dry out but we have had numerous people mention ignition issues shortly after an engine wash.

I have also used Oil Eater Degreaser and I think it is just great.

It is almost best not to spray any water at all on the engine. Maybe try just spraying the engine with the oil eater and wipe it off with a wet towel instead.
