The A/C on my 1985 240DL stopped working. Fuse 12 blows immediately every time I turn on the thermostat. Also about a week ago the compressor belt broke and I replaced and a/c worked fine till today.
Any help would be appreciated!

WAG's - look for a short in the ac wiring - the wire to the compressor, wire from the low pressure cutoff switch, etc. You have an '85, so perhaps the insulation is cracked off and exposing the wire underneath. Could the compressor have seized, thus causing the belt to break? Jumping the compressor wire to positive terminal of battery (with engine off) will tell you if compressor clutch is working (click on when power supplied, off when power removed).
