Doors getting tough to open...

The doors on my 2000 c70 with 71K are getting difficult to open. On the passenger side you'd swear the door was locked unless you give it a real tug to open it. I'm thinking that maybe the heavy weight of these doors causes this to happen over time. Is there some adjustment that can be made to help?

My 1999 Convert does the same thing, I thought at first it had been wrecked but I read others have same prob. Not have an answer yet for fix.

Grease the door hardware.

Look at the body where the door latches to the car. (need door to be open to see this)

There will be a metal piece there. The piece you are looking at will be at the visible part of the door jamb if you are looking towards the rear of the car from the vantage point of the driver seat.

Grease that.

Look at the door where the hardware is that latches to the body.

Grease that.

Your doors will be able to be opened with a pinky finger after you perform this service.

Very simple, very inexpensive.

Might as well grease the trunk latch and hood latch while you are at it.
