850 turbo 1996 No lights with driver door open

When I open the driver door, the driver door light doesn't come on. If I try any other door it works. Is there a switch in the door that turns on the lights when I open the door?

There is a switch but unfortunately it is integrated into the latch assembly inside the door. A few folks have been able to repair the switch itself but most have had to replace the entire latch.
