S80 3.2 2008 Reset maintenance required message

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

S80 3.2 2008 Reset maintenance required message

Post by scott478 »

Just back into an S80 and could use a little direction on resetting the "i" light message. Had an '01 T6 for 170K but it looks like I might need to learn some new tricks...

What a relief. The ipd.usa website has directions for push button start S80s that worked on my '08:

"2008-2009 Volvos with starter push button on dashboard

The trip odometer must have at least 0.1 mile on it or the light will not reset.
Get in vehicle and do not push down on the brake pedal
Put the key in the slot and push the starter button once
Press and hold down the odometer reset button
While doing this, push the starter button again and hold for 2 seconds
Keep the odometer reset button held in and watch the instrument cluster for the general warning indicator (I) to illuminate. When this happens, release the button.
Turn the vehicle off then back on and verify the message is now out."

Working on my parts order with these folks now. ipd.usa.com :https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... &t=22724#D

Just tried this on my '08 S80 and worked like a charm. Great post.
