850 Turbo 1996 MAF sensor-P0103

Post by grants »

After reading the forums related to my stalling problem, I pulled the codes from the car and got one code-P0103. I have cleaned the sensor with spray cleaner. Will that clear the code, or do I have to clear the car's codes through my ODB-2, or get a new MAF sensor to clear the code? With engine running, I can unplug/plug MAF sensor and hear a stutter. My wife drives the car more than I, and states the stalls happen at stoplights/stopsigns, more likely with the AC on, but starts right away after. When it stalls, pushing on gas pedal feels like pushing more air than gas. Car has 185k.

Thanks, what a great site!

The easiest way is to clear it with the code reader and then see if it comes back.

Have cleared the codes. Check engine came back on with same code. Do I need to replace the sensor or the housing, or both? Have bad PCV system, should replace this week. Are these connected?

If you have a returning code which indicates bad Maf sensor,i'm affraid that it needs to be replaced.
If you're going to replace it,just make sure to replace it with original one(new one or used one).Don't buy any aftermarket Maf sensor. :!:
Bosch is oem and it's number is 0 280 217 107.

Have replaced with new(used) MAF sensor, cleared the codes, and check engine light has not come back on. So far, so good.
