Hello - today I tried to replace my oil trap and was foiled because I couldn't remove the intake manifold. I thought that between VADIS and the helpful tips here, that it would be possible. However, after loosening all required bolts and hoses, I found that there was still a hose that ran from the underside of the left front of the manifold to the thermostat housing and another hose right beside it that was attached from below and didn't have enough slack to remove the intake - this second hose was attached with a bolt from below and was not accessible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - I had used this link - and thought it was excellent, but my manifold is different - it has another tube connected to the thermostat housing and there is no obvious way to remove it without removing the housing - if anyone has successfully done this on a 2000 v70 XC, I'd really like a tip or two.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Yes - it is, but this one too doesn't address the hose from the front left underside of the intake manifold running to the thermostat housing. It looks like I need to remove the housing and drain some coolant. Surely someone out there has done this?
Here's a pic that shows the location of the tube. You cannot see the tube as it runs underneath the circled area of the manifold to the underside of the thermostat housing. Any thoughts?
