My headliner has fallen towards the rear of the car. What is the best repair option? If I were to try to repair it myself, how would I go about getting the headliner board out of the car?
Thanks
1995 850 Headliner
I just got done replacing the headliner in my 93 850. Its not that hard. Take out the 2 front seats. All the appropriate trim around the doors and such will need to be removed. Most will just unsnap. There are 2 small clips above the rear deck that should just twist a 1/4 turn then drop down. Unplug any connectors that are above the headliner. Towards the front the visors will need to come down as well as the control panel for the courtesy lights. On the visors i didn't have access to unplug connectors so i had to cut the wires for the lights in the visors. Be sure to remove negative from battery and leave disconnected until wires are reconnected. When everything is removed have someone help you carefully drop the headliner board down and take out through one of the rear doors. You will have some flex in the board but take your time.
Once its out of the car remove the headliner from the board. Using a soft wire brush scrape the old headliner and adhesive off the board. Use some medium grit sandpaper to finish the job. The rest is just common sense. I went to Joann Fabrics and got my headliner for about $25. Autozone for the 3m adhesive. Don't use cheap adhesive. I worked from front to back spraying both board and the headliner. When it dried i checked the edges and had a couple of spots that i applied more adhesive. Installation was the reverse of removal. Again just take your time getting the board back in the car. I wish i had taken pictures but i didn't. Feel free to contact me either here or at [email protected] if you have any questions. Have fun.

Some pictures along the way would make for a great addition to the repair database.
