False Warning Message - "bulb failure, position light".

Post by jsturt »

2004 V70 continously displays a "bulb failure, position light". This warning is a nuisence that has been around for 2 years. All lamps are working fine. I have removed the bulbs and reset them to ensure a good contact, with no results. I have been waiting for a "weak" bulb to burnout to end this problem message.

Any suggestions to clear this warning message once andfor all?

The taillights on some of the S80's had weak contact springs causing this. are you sure you have all four taillights lite.

I have had the problem with the bulbs being slightly different from what the owners manual called for. I could not tell the difference in brightness but the wattage was different from side to side to trip the warning.
Glück.

What he is saying here could be the exact problem, they could be lite but not the correct bulb causing that problem.
