240 DL 1988 wagon popped and cut off

Post by JDDurham »

Hello all,
I have a problem. My 240DL 1988 was doing 55 then suddenly the oil light came on and a small pop and it cut off no smoke. I coasted to the side of the road and checked the oil and it was a half a quart low. Not enough IMHO to blow the engine plus the pop wasnt that big. I won't start but it tries to turn over. Any ideas?
