The cover that is still leaking transmission fluid is called a "protecting casing" part number 6843815 found on automatic 850's '93-95, '96 - , plus my '98 V70 T5 auto. Still looking for one!!

If it's rusted through, the whole sheet metal cover is thin. Fix one hole and another appears from messing with it. It's a small part, Just bolt on another. I can send you one if you can't find one closer. No difference between a solid used one and new.

I had a fuel tank repaired at a radiator shop. A sheet metal patch soldered onto the tank at the rust site. Might be an option here.

I found a used cover!!
Now, the question is what kind of gasket material can I use? The material that oozzed out on the sides of the cover before taking it off the donor vehicle was orange in color.

I have some of the anaerobic redish/pink material left over from doing the cylinder head/oil pan cover on the blue V70, can I use that on this cover?
AND...
The bolts that came off were covered with the gasket material - I will clean those off and apply new.
Other than making sure the bolts are on tight, are there torque specs I need to be aware of?

Appreciate your replies!

That pink anerobic is for joining two machine matched surfaces , not sealing a metal to metal dissimilar junction. I’m not sure what is used there, let the Collective Hive share its wisdom
