My standard flush is lower hose off, garden hose into the reservoir flooding it with water , engine idling fir 15-30 minutes.

Stay near by do you don’t ruin your engine if the hose pops out, perfect time to wash and wax

Don’t get hung up on distilled water vs tap unless your tap is pathologically hard water.

With regard to water use, you are referring to the flush? Use distilled or deionized preferably for mix? The Yanmar guys say flush with distilled water only as well as no chemical cleaners. I don’t do that. Seems absurd to me. I do use the Yanmar premix though. I bought concentrate Zerex G48 for this job though so was planning on using distilled water with it. My well water is isn’t heavy on minerals or metals. But I haven’t had it tested in 24 yrs. Don’t see as much has changed. Thanks again.

It is insane to use distilled but many do out of some internet folklore.

The hardest water will consume about 1% of the scavenger coolant manufacturers put in the product, and all the metal the water sees quickly makes your distilled water, Undistilled.

Change every 30k , just like manual says. Send the old stuff back to FreeCP!

Our “Transfer Station”(they get so upset if you call it the dump) has oil and antifreeze recycle tanks. I would assume it all ends up at the same processing facility.

Walmart was out of distilled water yesterday. So that made that decision even easier.
