Is it that one side is warmer than the other? Defroster works properly? Position (legs/torso/head)?

No it's the temperature that's the problem at all vents. It's either ice cold or warm. I'm thinking the one which regulates temperature (not fully switching air flow to the heater core) but don't know which one that is or where it's located. Thanks in advance.

On the driver side, remove the bottom panels and look up towards heat core. The damper whose arm would interfere with core's removal is your broken one.

did you look at the ambient temp sensor?
located in the bottom of the driver side mirror.
door inside panel can be removed to inspect the harness, the usual suspect.

Wouldn't the ambient temperature sensor throw a fault? Is there an output value you could check with the autel?

Heat problem in the P2 cars boils down to:

1. HVAC linkage arm.
Just kneel down and look if the linkage arm moves when
the setting is changed from Blue to Red (key in position II).

2. Thermostat is usually suboptimal at 100K miles.
Temp gauge showing 12:00 position does not necessarily mean the coolant temp is correct.
I use Wahler.
I hear Facet brand is good too.

3. Heater Core:
Behr is good.

4. WP impeller rarely rarely breaks off, unless it was replaced with an aftermarket, non-Aisin item.

All info is in this forum.
