2016 XC60 with inline-5 was a disaster for us, so we sold it soon after warranty expired and bought a last production year of Toyota Sequoia with V8 (the old good one). It is basically how we would love to see Volvo making XC90. Or XC100. Our family is largish and we travel long distances to sparsely populated areas, so reliability and durability are two cornerstones.

For myself I shifted more from week long overlandings to light-medium offroad, so in the wild my old(ish) V8 Toyota Tundra is two heads above my XC70...

...which I still keep, because of nostalgic value, aesthetics and most of everything fixed or replaced.

I'm no longer a Volvo customer. Well, besides buying parts.

Volvo is still the go to vehicle and is driven the most around the town.

I wonder how many of us here are used Volvo buyers and fans, but not directly supporting Volvo. That describes me.

I can say that my S60 2005 is probably the last volvo I will use in the foreseeable future. That is to say that I want to try a different brand if possible. A part of me is kind of tired of putting in a lot of work and having it break down again and again.

I ask myself this question as well. Hoping to get 5-8 years out of this S60 and creep some honda/acura/toyota/lexus forums to see how the reliability pans out.

Yup, that is me. I can't imagine buying a new Volvo. I do however buy Volvo branded replacement parts.

I'd buy another 01-04 V70 if I had to get another car. My problem is, when I was 15, I bought a 55 VW without an engine and put my brothers 1960 engine in my car. I've been fooling with cars forever and at age 69, I still like walking through my favorite U-Pull it junk yard, even if I don't need anything.
I like my 01V70 and am up to 226,000 miles.

I'll stay with gasoline engines. Volvo's B4204T23 can be next to know - a V90CC.
