I have tried unlocking and locking the car both with my key and the FOB. I previously had two ignition keys on my key ring which seemed to be giving the car some grief but those issues resolved once I removed the other ignition key. Is there a way I can disable the immobilizer to test? I thought it might be the immobilizer antenna ring that sits around the ignition of later 850's until I figured out that the earlier models don't have one positioned in the same place.

In North America I don't believe we got antenna rings and chipped keys until 1998. Europe got them earlier.
