A local name that confused me years ago was NOLA. Then I learned it was New Orleans Louisiana (NOLA).

Luggy - to be fair, the flat part is the only thing we could SEE from the edge of Colorado. And I've never been there.
Here's a quirk - when I was tiny, the first thing I said was "Oh! 66044!" Over and over. No one has a clue, maybe it was a phone number I heard. BUT...it just happens to be the zip code of Lawrence Kansas....hmm. That's where the University is, right?
