Colorado is Remove plates. Washington was Plates Stay On, might still be I don't know.

I sold a 1997 Accord in Washington in 2000 when I got my 850, and took the plates off. The buyer was insistent the plates stayed on, and he was right and I put them back on before he left. That was weird.

At least now you can buy tag sticker for 2 years instead of just 1 year. Oklahoma has not issued new metal tags each year for decades.
I think you are also required to keep a current copy of the registration paper in the vehicle.
Nights traffic stops will always be scary.

I found out that I'm not supposed to put the current plate on the new vehicle, but instead have no plate and just keep the bill of sale on hand in case of a traffic stop. I have 10 days from the date of purchase to get the new temp tag put on there.
Isn't no plate at all just asking to be stopped several times before you get a plate? I would not want to drive until I got a plate.

I'm referring to when driving home from the private party. The previous plate cannot be put on so must drive wo plate on way home from purchase. However got temp a few days ago so all good. The thing that originally messedme up was the original explanation back in 2019 when the law had changed.

The next thing to do is maintenance. I'm going to get timing kit done next week. I'm also planning to put together the engine crane early next week so I can sort out the manual trans plan and engine mounts. I'm about to re-watch Roberts engine removal video and I'm going to look at Stage 0 requirements.

We are very old school in NY. You cannot drive it until you get new plates. Want to get your new car home? Tow it.

Of course, I invoke OWGP and just drive home.

Is this a topic in the p80 section? Where's that ground?

Old white guy privilege.

KInd of like the time I dropped of the Kat to new owner, and did a U-turn on a service road, which was one way.

Suffolk PD came by and said "Sir - can you turn around please?"
