1999 Volvo V70 GLT (P80) Central Locking, Fuel Door, and Hatch Failure

The resistors fail 100% of the time so they should probably be deleted (you can also test the motor with a power supply before putting it back in) but that doesn't match the fuel door and hatch also not working. These controls all go through the VGLA module which is under the drivers side kick panel and can store codes, you can read the them with vida or the 850 OBD app (for me vida timed out connecting to the module but 850 obd was able to communicate with it, probably bad dice connector). If the codes don't point to anything you will need to get the wiring diagrams, start at where you expect things to happen(i.e. the latch) and see if it is getting the signal, if not go further up, etc., but all of those things not working at once suggests that the VGLA module might have a code and is refusing to work because of it.

Thanks for the response, I'll have to try and see if I can get the 850 OBD app to work. I do fortunately have the wiring diagrams, but dissecting them is proving difficult as I'm not the most electrically savvy. The only other car I've used diagrams to mess with is my MG, but all diagrams for that have labels for the color of each wire - the Volvo diagrams do not.

The common theme here is the driver side master switch panel, all the juice for the latching goes through that switch .

Switch doctors makes a decent cheap replacement at about $35, new $150-200 ftom Mother Volvo

The classic failure is caused by broken tailgate wires at the upper left tailgate latch

Thank you for the reply; however, I have already disassembled the master switch panel and tested central locking switch function with continuity (negative lead on solder of switch pin, positive on pin bridged by switch, pressing locking switch, and hearing continuity occur).

I have also torn apart my hatch and the interior trim pieces where the hatch wiring master clip resides. All wires (from a visual inspection at least) seem to be in perfect condition.
