Hmmm, with an all wheel drive it is a completely different animal.

The access for the star adjuster is from the inboard side, through the splash shield, directly above the axle.

Sorry to lead you in the wrong direction.

AWD V70's have an extra jacking point that your jack fits in, right in front of your rear axle. I would use the center one to jack the entire side of your car up and use the rear jacking point to set your jack stand under.

On my 2000 V70XC I found the only way to adjust the parking shoes was with a screw driver through the lug nut holes. I didn't see any port on the interior backing plate. As other's posted, both wheels must be off the ground and I took the wheels off the car. The passenger side "star" adjuster is located at the 3 o'clock position. You'll need a flashlight to see it. The driver's side adjuster is located at about the 8 - 8:30 position. Remember that if one side is hanging up it can effect how you adjust the other side.

The parking brake has been the most annoying problem I've had since I've owned my 98 V70 AWD. The adjusters are difficult to get to thru the lug holes, and I've ended up adjusting mine from the back around the edge of the backing plate. I replaced both cables and have tried any number of times to follow Lee's advice on adjusting the shoes, but none of the adjusting tricks has worked for me to keep the brakes from making noise. The rattling and rubbing doesn't seem to do any permanent damage, but is very annoying and probably affects gas mileage. Last month I bought a 2000 Ford truck, only to find out it uses the same poor design. The previous owner had taken out the entire E brake assembly and I had to replace it.

If you've done any work on the e-brake pads or hardware, they will make some noise until they are seated correctly. Try stopping the car from about 25 MPH with them several times, a few minutes apart. After I just did my brake job (2000 XC) I didn't even touch the adjusters at the brakes themselves. I just tightened the cable at the console a little and did a few good stops with them. They've since stopped making their horrible noises.

Until they've centered correctly, they will be a bit weird. You may want to consider taking the rotor off again to make sure the pads haven't slid out of their retainer. If you've noticed, the pads do have some leeway to move around. If they do slip out of their holders, undoubtedly they will make a racket!
