2000 S80 ABS Module remanufacturers

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Summary:

I just want to update anybody that suffers with an ABS Light/failure problem and in need of repair of your ABS Module. I had Victor Rocha do my repair and as I told him "ABS Module Repair -Victor Rocha is the Master - Search no more - Problem solved - PERIOD!!!" He provides an outstanding service.

The other advice I can offer is that his S80 2000 removal instructions are very good, however, they are not 100% fullproof for a first-timer. For example, the removal of the main multi-pin connector without breaking it. Be very careful and it comes off very easy. Here is some facts to assist you:

Upon attempting the connector removal it is not evident the black cover is an integral part of the connector that also functions as a locking device when fully seated and closed. (and the opposite - an unlocking device when opened to ~90 degrees to release from the module mating contact connector). In fact, obtaining 90 degrees was not feasible on my 2000 S80 without removal of the Fuse/Relay Box or after the removal of the ABS Module first.

If I can assist with other details, such as replacement of those terrible "oddball" TORX E5 Screws with much better (easier to work with - without a doubt) Stainless Socket Cap Head Screws - let me know.

Thank you all for your assitance.

Jay

Jay, thanks for posting back...always good to hear success stories and some things to watch out for. I had Victor fix my ABS unit on my s70 a couple years back too, so I agree with you that he's the guy. Anyway, you mentioned an alternative to the E5 screws that hold that thing in. Can you kindly tell us where you found them? This would be great information for others...they are so easy to either lose or bugger up.
Thanks in advance,
Dave
P.S. I hope you feel better and get over your cold quickly.

These replacement Stainless Socket Head Cap Screws are typically sold to the trade and not readily available through retail channels. However, I can make them available for purchase if anyone is in need of them.

Post them up in the for sale section- I'm sure that folks will buy these- me included. Actually, Victor who rebuilds these would probably be interested too.
