Alright. Thanks!MadeInJapan wrote:Wheel lugs are tightened to right at 100ft. lbs on your S60. That's probably the most you'll need in regards to torque.

I bought this one for sale $160 at sears on their turkey day sale.

Well worth it, I like having lots of difference choices for sockets. Also I recently picked up a T10-T60 torx set at sears for $16.

That's it but I got it for $16, regular was $32. Also I picked up a set from Harbor Freight and think I will go with the Harbor Freight over Lisle set because even though Lisle's are one piece formed metal, HF's are longer and allow easier access. The HF set was $6 for slightly less torx sizes, I think it ended with T50.
For any large sockets (30mm is huge) I go to auto stores and get their rental kits. 30mm is in Advance's wheel bearing kit, $50 to use it for 30 (?) days and return it and get your money back. That's a $20 socket.

Looks like a nice set! But that's a lot more than I wanted to spend and much more than I need... This tool set will basically just sit in my trunk. Perhaps when I'm done school and have my own house and everything, I'll get one of those $500 huge rolling cases of tools!wheelsup wrote:I bought this one for sale $160 at sears on their turkey day sale.

Well, my set has a bunch of screwdriver bits which cover all the Torx I think I'd ever need (other than the above-mentioned T55 for the accessory belt tensioner. And if I ever do that/need that, I'll probably just go buy that single bit. But if these screwdriver bits wear-out quick (or I just don't like them), I'll definitely look into the Harbor Freight set! Also I recently picked up a T10-T60 torx set at sears for $16.

I keep hearing people say you can borrow tools from Advance Auto. Man, I need to start doing that or something...For any large sockets (30mm is huge) I go to auto stores and get their rental kits. 30mm is in Advance's wheel bearing kit, $50 to use it for 30 (?) days and return it and get your money back. Ugh. So I checked out the stuff at Sears. The cheapest non-"beam" style torque wrench was $83 and it only does 10-75 ft-lbs. And I just checked reviews on Sears website, and it turns out that most of those (the "Microtork" ones) basically suck, and the beam ones are the good ones! Good thing they're cheap, too bad I hate the way they look... (and I basically can't get a case to fit them...) Also, I really have no idea what their torque ranges are.MadeInJapan wrote:Wheel lugs are tightened to right at 100ft. lbs on your S60. That's probably the most you'll need in regards to torque.
That said, anyone know the low-end of the torque spectrum needed for these cars? And anyone have a suggestion for a good torque wrench?

I bought a 1/2 inch drive torque wrench from Harbor Freight yesterday for $14.99. Decent quality. It does 20-150 ft. Lbs. I'll only use of it is for my lugs on my S70 (19mm deep well socket). Now I can take the very good quality torque ratchet out of my car and put it in the tool box where it belongs.

I like that idea: cheap-o one for the lugs, expensive one for everything else! I'll have to swing-by the Harbor Freight store here sometime before I go homeMadeInJapan wrote:I bought a 1/2 inch drive torque wrench from Harbor Freight yesterday for $14.99. Decent quality.
