No clue, the (lack of) documentation on AllData/VADIS on the subject is confusing as heck...some 2002's had the 'old' standalone system, others were tied into the AEM and therefore the rear speakers (there's a harness part number listed for that). If the OP's system is standalone, then I would expect that it beeps.

The switch is in the back, I presume to allow for control in case you are towing a trailer or something.
