940 1992 Speedometer intermittent

Hi Bill,
Said I would be back to let you know the outcome.
Bought a spare cluster on E bay and finally found a shop that could repair the speedo in the purchased cluster. The original speedo had more problems so thats why I went that way. Two shops were emphatic, this fault cannot be repaired. Apparently the Odometers usually fail and not the Speedo. Both speedos had a failed speedo and odometer. My man in Redondo Beach has a friend who is a retired electronics engineer. Since spare chips are available he rewires across the existing chips with what ever components are required. Bingo it works. Guaranteed for a year, repaired fitted and tested For $300.00. A new one can be $800.00 or so. If you have this problem you can contact,
