A Lot of good responses provided by the members. I'll shift subject "slightly" to continue the technical portion of the discussion. I had read a quite informative post about a year ago in which the author who claimed to be an automotive brake engineer, stating that the majority of "brake dust" is not the pad (yes there is some from the pad), but from the rotors!
So the question to the group is this? If you experienced less brake dust did you note a correlation between rotor and pad wear? When it came time to change out my OEM pads I noted the rotors were quite worn. Still very smooth but with a very distinctive ridge at the top. I'm now running the "Red Box" pads and have noted much less dust, but dust is still there (I also replaced the rotors with parts from Auto Zone). This set up is a bit too new to see the wear on the rotors, but I would like others to post their experience if they know the relationship.
