I don't know that I would say I have it solved....I am sort of holding my breath.....I'll let my son drive it around and see if it strands him............................

If the filter was blocked to that extent..........
One other thing that could have been the problem was the MAF connector. One of the reasons that they give trouble is with dirty contacts on the connector. Possibly taking it off and putting it on cleaned the contacts.

Thanks for the input. I did consider that when I unplugged and re-plugged the pig tail into the MAF. Only thing is....all the terminals were real clean and had real clean no-ox grease on them. It is a possibility though.....
