Hi Merry Christmas to you. Yes I did say I have no spark. I have held the coil wire away from a good earth, while supplying power to the starter & no spark is seen. Cheers Reg

I am leaning more and more to a faulty ignition switch. Try testing as I described in my previous post.

In this test were you running a lead from the battery to the starter motor and was the ignition switch on or off? To get a spark you need the ignition on.

Hi happy new year to you, & thanks once again for your reply. Yes the ignition was turned on & I was supplying power from the battery. I also notice the ptrol gauge seems to keep going up to full, which I believe it to be & then dropping down to empty. Dont know wether this is connected. Cheers Reg

With the petrol gauge playing games I am leaning more than ever towards the ignition switch.

You may be able to pick up a used one at a breaker's yard. If you want a used one with a warranty try Parts Gateway or CP Motors.
