99 V70XC Really horrible sound in R. front going over bumps

The spring seat (the rubber bit) is often the cause of noise.
Aftermarket seats are really bad. Mine went bad in 30K miles. I think the genuine volvo seats are the best but even those are under built and don't last very long.., so someone figured out that the xc90 seats fit perfectly in a v70 and are a little more beefy, so that's what I use. I have no experience with the ipd parts. They offer three seats

Ok, so the XC90 spring seat should fit. What about the XC 90 strut mount? Can I do just one side or do I need to do both to maintain symmetry?

The sound I'm hearing is like someone hitting the frame with a mallet. I replaced both the spring seat and strut 1.5 years about because the spring seat was broken. That sound was distinctly different; it was like metal hitting metal.
