Volvo specialist advises against Castrol Oil - ideas please

We're all going to be paying more for oil soon, the cost per barrel of oil has more than doubled from when it dropped a year or two ago. Stock up if you have the room to put it.

They use to show castrol in the older owners manuals.Sludge comes from improper oil changes.

Now the car is with me, until I am ready to swap engines to increase the BHP output, I will be changing the oil every 3 months to remove as much of the remaining sludge as possible
855 T-5 RHD Blue: MBC, Custom Map based on Rica, K&N Filter, 18T Turbocharger, White/Green injectors [depends on my mood], Blue Silicone vacuum hoses

I use Castrol Synthetic w/o any problems as well. What is the shelf life of unopened oil? lol
